About Me

My name is Ashley Rogers, and I’m from Lawrenceville, Georgia. To describe me, I would say that I’m a timid person who likes to learn new things. Learning has become one of my passions, whether it involves studying a new language, creating something new, or helping others. With this passion for learning, I want to take any knowledge I’ll gain and apply it to aid others. Currently, the languages that I know are English and Spanish; however, I’m in the process of learning Korean, Thai, and French. I wanted to learn these languages to assist someone who can’t communicate well in English.

Also, I want to help others by going into the medical field. When I was younger, I was always somewhere near a hospital or doctor’s office. I noticed that a lot of doctors and nurses treat their patients like they were family. This made me see the good in helping others get better, which sparked my passion to help people.

Through this passion for wanting to assist others, I decided to attend Agnes Scott College. From what I researched about ASC, I had determined that I would be able to take a variety of different classes. For example, I’m currently taking a leadership class. In the other colleges, they probably wouldn’t express the importance of leadership as much as ASC. What had also drawn me to ASC was the inclusion and diversity found all over campus. It makes the school feel like a giant family that accepts everyone regardless of their gender identity and sexuality. To me, that was a large factor in choosing where to attend college. As I continue my education at Agnes Scott, I hope to achieve my ultimate career goal of becoming a nurse with minors in law, business, and dentistry.
